WELLESLEY, Mass. — Wheaton College (Mass.) men's fencers Ryan Daudelin (Duxbury, Mass.), Phillip Winston Nunnink (Kansas City, Mo.) and Grant Smith (Oakland, Calif.) were named to the Northeast Fencing Conference Men's Fencing Academic All-Conference team, it was announced by the league.
Honorees must have earned a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.3/4.0 scale after the 2024 fall semester to be considered.
Daudelin is a senior Film & New Media Studies, Italian Studies and English multi-major at Wheaton. The Boston College High School product saw action in 60 bouts in sabre competition for the Lyons.
Nunnink is a first year Finance major. A graduate of Rockhurst High School, Nunnink was named All-America Honorable Mention in foil by the United States Fencing Coaches Association, All-Region by the USFCA and a First Team All-Star by the NFC.
Smith is a first year Business major. The Saint Mary's College graduate was an NFC Second Team All-Star and posted a 49-26 (.653) foil record, while also competing at the NCAA Northeast Regional Championship.
Wheaton finished 2-19 in its first-ever season of competition.
