CAMBRIDGE, Mass. — The Wheaton College (Mass.) women's track and field team's 4X100-meter relay placed first at the MIT Final Qualifier this afternoon at the Sherie and Don Morrison Track hosted by Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge, Mass.
The Lyons' quartet of senior Emily Zielinski (Orange, Conn.), junior Wendy Wooden (Sharon, Mass.), sophomore Camille Connors (Woburn, Mass.) and junior Michaina Loriston (Boston, Mass.) clocked in with a season-best time of 46.45. The mark is tied for the third-fastest in school history, while also standing 13th in all of NCAA Division III this season.
Loriston also finished second in the preliminaries of the 100-meter dash for Wheaton with a time of 11.83, before electing not to run the finals heat.
The Lyons are currently in line to compete at the NCAA Division III Championship in the 100-meter dash behind Loriston and the 4X100 relay on May 22-24 at SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio.
