WATERFORD, Conn. — Wheaton College (Mass.) senior Nick Lacroix (Bedford, N.H.) placed 68th overall to lead the Wheaton College (Mass.) men's cross country team this morning at the Connecticut College Cross Country Invitational at Harkness Park in Waterford, Conn.
The Lyons finished 24th out of 37 teams with a total of 656 points in the eight-kilometer White race. Tufts University, New York University, and Williams College all tied for first place with 65 points apiece. Williams College sophomore Emil Nelson (Portland, Ore.) took the overall individual title in 25:05.62.
Lacroix finished with a personal record time of 26:35.90 to extend a trend that has seen him improve his time with each race this season for Wheaton.
Senior Parker Fullem (Wantage, N.J.) was the next Lyon to cross the finish, placing 185th with a season's best time of 28:01.64, followed closely by sophomore Dan McIntyre (Keene, N.H.) with his own respective personal-best time of 28:04.44, earning him 191st place. First year Will Doyle (Milton, Mass.) also figured into the team scoring, shaving off nearly a minute and a half off of his personal record in 28:06.48 for 194th place, with classmate Thomas Sargent (Bow, N.H.) close behind in 200th place with a minute personal record of 28:09.08.
Wheaton sophomore Finn Morris' (Cape Elizabeth, Maine) personal best of 28:13.63 led him to a 209th place finish and first year Nolan Bushnell (Rochester, Mass.) also clipped his own personal-record mark as he finished in 29:18.00 to capture 280th place. The personal record-breaking continued with senior Lucas MacKenzie (Saint Albans, Vt.) running a time of 29:37.65 to land in 292nd place.
Sophomore Nathan Pires (Yarmouth, Maine) ran a season-best time of 29:50.55 in 306th place, with first-year Jack Kittredge (Broad Brook, Conn.) following up in 313th place with a 30:08.06 clip. First-year Kayden Chhoun (Wilbraham, Mass.) finished up for the Lyons in 30:30.17 for 320th place.
Wheaton runs again in the 2025 New England Women's & Men's Athletic Conference Championship at Highland Park in Attleboro, Mass., on Saturday, November 1, at 11:00 a.m.
