KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Wheaton College (Mass.) men's soccer team earned the United Soccer Coaches College Team Academic Award for the 2023-24 academic year it was announced by the USC.
The award, initiated in the 1997-98 academic year, honors men's soccer teams that maintain a grade-point average of 3.0 or higher for the recently completed academic year.
The Lyons earned a team GPA of 3.21 for the 2023-24 academic year and boasted 14 student-athletes with a 3.5 or better GPA, including two Wheaton men's soccer players with a perfect 4.0 for the year. The Lyons earn the accolade for the second straight year from the USC.
Wheaton finished the season ranked third in the NCAA Region II rankings after posting an 8-5-6 overall record, including 5-1-2 in conference action. The Lyons advanced to the NEWMAC Championship Tournament Semifinals, before bowing to second-seeded Babson College, 1-0, on November 4.
