WESTWOOD, Mass. – Six Wheaton College (Mass.) student-athletes have been named to the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference 2024 Fall All-Sportsmanship Team, it was announced by the NEWMAC.
The award is intended to recognize one student-athlete from each institution in every sport that best demonstrates the ideals of the NEWMAC and its Code of Conduct, regardless of their overall performance or statistics for the season.
Senior women's soccer player Lauren DiTullio (Hanover, Mass.), senior field hockey player Lydia Gaudreau (Gorham, Maine), senior men's soccer player Lucas Goettel (Cumberland, Maine), junior women's volleyball player Hollis Hanson (Parker, Colo.), first year men's cross country runner Finn Morris (Cape Elizabeth, Maine) and first year women's cross country runner Chloe Vescio (Douglas, Mass.) were selected to the team for the Lyons.
DiTullio started all 18 matches, primarily in the backfield for Wheaton, while netting her first collegiate goal. Gaudreau started all 18 contests during a campaign that saw her register three assists and started all 73 matches during her four-year tenure in Norton. Goettel battled through injury, but still managed to see action in eight matches, including a start, and played in a career-high 229 minutes. Hanson established career highs in matches (30), sets played (116), kills (186), assists (13), digs (38) and block assists (53). Morris turned in a personal-best time of 29:31 to place 94th at the NEWMAC Championship and Vescio finished 46th at the NEWMAC title meet after posting a personal-best six-kilometer time of 24:03.7 to place 58th at the Connecticut College Invitational.
