The dual match was originally scheduled to be hosted by Emerson.

The Lyons improve to 2-11 overall and 1-4 in NEWMAC play, while the Lions fall to 3-12 and 0-5.

First year Alissa Ortiz (El Paso, Texas) dropped just three games on the day between doubles and singles play for Wheaton. She teamed with classmate Kara Greenlee (San Antonio, Texas) at number one doubles to earn an 8-2 victory over the Emerson duo of junior Gabrielle McGovern (Woodbridge, Conn.) and senior Sophie Oglensky (Port Monmouth, N.J.). The Lyon junior tandem of Zoe West (New York, N.Y.) and Katalyn Foster (Weston, Conn.) scored an 8-3 win at number three doubles over first year Carlson Jones and Emma Londoner. Junior Mareike Mueller (Amesbury, Mass.) combined with sophomore Izzy Kruse (Woodstock, Ga.) for an 8-4 decision at second doubles over the Lions' pairing of sophomore Fuschia Faulding Steward (New York, N.Y.) and first year Chase Stinson to give Wheaton a sweep in doubles action.

Ortiz surrendered just one game in singles play with a 6-1, 6-0 showing at number three singles for the Lyons over McGovern to give Wheaton the fifth and deciding point for the match. West was equally impressive at fifth singles for Wheaton with a 6-1, 6-0 triumph over junior Lauren Germani (Lincoln, R.I.), while Greenlee cruised to a 6-1, 6-1 win at number two singles for the Lyons over Oglensky.

Wheaton first year Haylee Doiron (Lowell, Mass.) turned in a 6-2, 6-2 result at sixth singles over Londoner. Kruse and Stinson battled to a 6-4 decision at number four singles that went to the Lyons, before Kruse blanked her Emerson foe, 6-0, in the second frame. Muller had little trouble at first singles with a 6-2, 6-3 win over Faulding Steward.

Wheaton returns to the court tomorrow when it travels to Springfield, Mass. to take on Springfield College at 12:00 p.m. in NEWMAC play, while the Lions host Smith College tomorrow at Noon as well.
