GILBERT, Ariz. – The Wheaton College (Mass.) women's tennis team matched a school record with eight players named Intercollegiate Tennis Association Scholar-Athletes in addition to the Lyons being tabbed an All-Academic Team by the ITA.
Maya Brennan (Valatie, N.Y.), Haylee Doiron (Lowell, Mass.), Kara Greenlee (San Antonio, Texas), Laila Haraj-Sai (Madison, Conn.), Alissa Ortiz (El Paso, Texas), Amelie Robinson (Minneapolis, Minn.), Lily Runyan (New Milford, Conn.) and Taylor Wilson (Dover, N.H.) were all selected for Wheaton.
All student-athletes earning Scholar-Athlete recognition must have a grade point average of at least 3.5 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year and be listed on the institutional eligibility form.
The eight Lyons tabbed for Wheaton are the most since 2013 and equal the school record.
To earn All-Academic Team status, all programs must attain a cumulative team grade point average of 3.2 or above (on a 4.00 scale), which must include all varsity letter winners on the roster.
Wheaton posted a remarkable 3.71 team GPA for the 2025-26 academic year.
Greenlee and Ortiz earn ITA Academic recognition for the fourth straight year to mark the first time since Lyndsay Cooke '14 was selected for the fourth time in 2013 that a Lyon could make that claim. Doiron and Wilson were both chosen for the third time, while Haraj-Sai is a repeat selection.
Brennan missed most of the season due to injury. The sophomore still managed to post a 1-0 record in doubles play, while owning an 0-1 mark in singles play.
Doiron graduated early in December, but did see time during the fall season. The senior Biology major saw action in two singles matches and a pair of doubles contests for Wheaton.
Greenlee posted an 11-11 singles record, including eight wins at number one singles. The senior put together a stretch from March 8 to March 16, where she won three of four singles contests. The Neuroscience major registered a 13-9 doubles record at the number one spot with Ortiz to lead Wheaton in doubles wins. The pair reeled off three straight triumphs from April 11-18.
Haraj-Sai compiled a 9-13 singles count with the bulk of her play coming at number two singles. The junior Business & Management major put together an 11-11 record in doubles play and was part of the Lyons' Co-Champions at the New England Women's Invitational Tennis Tournament on October 11.
Ortiz led the team with 12 singles wins and posted a combined mark of 25-20 to lead Wheaton in combined victories. The senior Chemistry major won four straight singles contests from March 9-16.
Robinson registered an 8-10 singles record, including five wins at the number six spot. The first year International Relations major saw most of her time at number three doubles and posted a 7-11 mark in doubles play for the Lyons.
Runyan's play in dual matches all came at number six singles, where she recorded a 1-4 mark. The first year Neuroscience major was also 3-1 at number three doubles as part of an overall 3-3 record.
Wilson registered nine singles victories and was 9-4 for the season, including a perfect 3-0 at number five singles. The junior closed out the season with four straight wins. The Business Finance and Psychology major added five doubles wins to her count for a combined mark of 14-14.
Wheaton finished the season with a 9-11 record, including a pair of three-straight win streaks. The Lyons were also 3-5 in conference play.
