BOSTON, Mass. -- Sophomore Jordan Pinnix (Manchester, Conn.) qualified to compete in tomorrow's final of the 60-meter hurdles to lead the Wheaton College (Mass.) men's track & field team on the first day of the NCAA Division III New England Championship at The TRACK at New Balance in Boston, Mass.
Pinnix recorded a time of 8.61 to finish eighth for the Lyons in the 60-meter hurdle preliminaries and qualify for tomorrow's final, which features the top eight finishers from the prelims.
Wheaton senior Matthew Cahill (Brewster, Mass.) registered a time of 8.68 in the race to place 10th.
Sophomore Kelvin Peterson (Eliot, Maine) finished 16th in the long jump with a leap of 6.48 meters for the Lyons.
Wheaton returns to action tomorrow when it competes in the high jump, the 60-meter hurdles, the mile, the 200 meters and the 4X400 relay.
