THE RUNDOWN:  

• The Wheaton College women's tennis team defeated Smith College 8-1 Saturday in New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) action at the ITT courts. 
• The Lyons started the day with a sweep in doubles with Ines de Bracamonte and Isabelle Garvanne earning an 8-1 win in the top spot, while Allison Burton and Miriam Galindo Cerrada collected an 8-0 win in the two spot. Wheaton's No. 3 team of Connor O'Keefe and Harley Swainston picked up an 8-2 win. 
• de Bracamonte followed with a 6-0, 6-1 singles win, while Garvanne earned a 6-1, 6-0 win over Joanna Kim in No. 2 singles. 
• Galindo Cerrada won her match in No. 3 singles, blanking her opponent 6-0, 6-0. O'Keefe earned a 6-2, 6-1 win in four singles, while Burton earned Wheaton's other point (6-0, 6-2). 

UP NEXT: Wheaton now awaits the NEWMAC Tournament seeding. The tournament is set to begin Saturday, April 27.
