THE RUNDOWN:
- The Wheaton College women's tennis team opened New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) action Tuesday evening with an 8-1 loss to Wellesley College.
- After falling behind 3-0 after doubles, Wheaton earned its lone point from Ines de Bracamonte in the No. 1 singles spot. The senior defeated Michaela Markwart 6-1 in the opening set, before taking the match with a 6-3 win in the second set.
- Miriam Galindo Cerrada battled in the No. 3 singles spot, taking the second set to extra points but eventually fell 7-6 (7-3). Connor O'Keefe also had a competitive match, falling 7-5, 6-2 in the No. 4 position.
