THE RUNDOWN:
- The Wheaton College women's soccer team concluded their season with a 3-1 NEWMAC quarterfinal loss at Springfield College this evening. Wheaton ends their season at 11-7-1, while Springfield moves on to the semifinals of the tournament on Thursday, October 1.
- Kaleigh Dale put the Pride on the board with the first half's only goal for a 1-0 lead at 16:10. Amanda Wright doubled the hosts' lead in the 58th minute after collecting a cross from Sara Swetland.
- Just about 20 minutes later, Jenna Palmer registered Wheaton's only goal of the evening to cut the Springfield advantage to 1, as she used a helper from Jaime Rattenni at 77:15.
- Springfield retaliated almost immediately with a Dale insurance goal from Sydney Wine just a minute after Palmer's goal.
- Alexa Barbagallo collected 6 saves in the 90-minute effort, while Jackie Davis made 3 in the win.
- Dale fired off a game-high 10 shots to lead the field, as Palmer and Chloe Troy paced the Lyons with two shots each.
