WESTFORD, Mass. - The Wheaton College women's tennis team defeated the Colby-Sawyer College Chargers, 8-1, Saturday afternoon at the Westfit Tennis Courts to conclude the 2016-17 season.
Sophomore Ines de Bracamonte and first-year Isabelle Garvanne started Wheaton's sweep of doubles with an 8-1 victory in the No. 1 spot. Sophomore Connor O'Keefe and first-year Harley Swainston went on to tab a win at No. 2 with an 8-5 final decision while junior Jodi Katz and senior Michelle Trainor completed action at No. 3 with an 8-1 win.
In singles, de Bracamonte continued her win streak with a 6-1, 6-2 final at No. 1. Garvanne (6-1, 4-6, 10-3) notched her own win at No. 2 as O'Keefe (6-4, 6-2) earned her own victory at No. 3. Katz (7-5, 6-3) and Trainor (6-2, 6-2) went on to record Wheaton's final two wins of the match at No. 5 and No. 6.
The Lyons concluded the year 9-9 overall and 4-4 in conference play.
