THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. - The Wheaton College women's tennis team took on California Lutheran University on Thursday in day two of competition in California on their spring trip, but dropped a 9-0 decision.
Junior Michelle Trainor and senior Izzy Gorham opened action for the Lyons in the No. 1 spot in doubles where they fell, 8-4. Sophomore Jodi Katz and first-year Connor O'Keefe were next up against Cal Lutheran in the No. 2 slot, dropping a 8-4 decision and senior Caroline Stanclift and senior Caroline DiNicola-Fawley were in the No. 3 spot, but fell 8-6.
In singles, O'Keefe put up a fight, but fell in the end 4-6, 6-3, 10-8 as Wheaton wasn't able to tack on any points.
The Lyons wrap up their spring trip in California on Friday where they battle Occidental College in Los Angeles at 7 p.m.
