NORTON, Mass. - The Wheaton College men's basketball team fell to visiting Bridgewater State, 85-68, Wednesday night in a non-conference contest in Emerson Gymnasium.

The Lyons (4-4) were led by 12 points from Nick Geremia, who ended the night a perfect 6-for-6 from the free-throw line, while knocking down 3-of-5 from the floor. Sophomores Ryan Fogarty and David Carbonello each finished with 11 points, while Quinton Dale chipped in 10. Carbonello led Wheaton with seven rebounds, all on the defensive end, while Alex DuBrow finished with a team-high five assists.

Fawaz Mass led all players with 22 points, finishing 6-of-10 from the floor, hitting one of two three-pointers, and draiming 9-of-11 from the charity stripe. Greg Romanko ended the night with 15 points for the Bears (5-3) and Rocky DeAndrade and Keyon Armstrong both pitched in 12 points.

Bridgewater State's Patrick McGuinness opened the game with a three-pointer, handing the Bears a lead they would never relinquish. A Fawaz three with 34-seconds on the clock earned BSU its largest lead of the contest. Fogarty and Geremia each hit both of their free-throws in the final seconds, cutting the deficit to 46-29 at intermission.

The Lyons matched the Bears point for point in the second half with Geremia coming alive to score 10 of his 12 points. Despite a solid second half effort by Wheaton it was not enough.

Bridgewater State finished the game shooting 48.1% (26-for-54) from the floor, hitting 7-of-16 (43.8%) from three-point range and sinking 26-of-36 (72.2%) of its chances from the free-throw line. Wheaton struggled from three-point range, hitting just one of its 14 attempts (7.1%), but knocked down 22-of-55 (40.0%) from the floor. The Lyons nearly matched the Bears from the charity stripe, sinking 23-of-32 (71.9%).

Wheaton returns to the court on Saturday, Dec. 10 at 1 p.m. at Pine Manor.
