Sye Scores to Lift Women's Soccer Past Clark

WORCESTER, Mass. - Sophomore Kaylee Sye scored in the eighth minute of the Wheaton College women's soccer teams New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) contest at Clark University Saturday afternoon, earning the Lyons a 1-0 win. 

The goal, which is Sye's first of the season, came from a pass from junior Megan Healy. TThe play started when went on the attack inside the box and sent a pass to the front of the goal mouth. The pass found a sliding Sye, who got inside of her defender and was able to nudge the ball past a diving Julianna Christy for the game's lone score just 7:16 into the contest.

Wheaton (11-6; 3-4 NEWMAC) held an 8-5 shot advantage over Clark (8-6-1; 2-5 NEWMAC), while the Cougars had a 3-2 edge in corners. 

Lyon goalkeeper Leann Wolf finished the game with four saves, while Christy of Clark made two. 

Wheaton returns to action on Tuesday, Oct. 25 at Babson for a NEWMAC contest that is set to begin at 3:30 p.m. in Babson Park.
