Box Score NORTON, Mass. – The Wheaton College men's soccer team was first on the board in their season opener against the Wentworth Institute of Technology Leopards, but later fell 2-1.
It was a quiet first half with no goals for either team before Lyons sophomore midfielder Sean Hurlburt headed one into the right side of the net for the 1-0 lead in the 69th minute.
But Wheaton could not hold onto the lead as Wentworth responded with two goals back-to-back in the last fifteen minutes of the game for the 2-1 final.
Senior goalkeeper Matt Dickey secured four saves in the match.
The Lyons (0-1) bring the action home on Saturday in a non-conference matchup against Ohio Northern with game time slated for 1 p.m.
