Lyons now 6-8 overall
NORTON, Mass. – The Wheaton College women's tennis team dropped a 5-0 decision to No. 27 nationally ranked Brandeis University on Thursday evening inside the Gosman Athletic Center.
Brandeis swept doubles play dropping just one set at No. 1 singles as senior Alexandra Marlowe (Mesa, Ariz./Mountain View) and first-year Jodi Katz (Needham, Mass./Needham) fell to senior Carley Cooke (San Diego, Calif./Point Loma) and first-year Haley Cohen (Cherry Hill, N.J./Laurel Springs) by an 8-1 score.
In singles play, Marlowe lost to Cooke, 6-3, 6-1, at the No. 1 position and Katz took a 6-2, 6-0 setback against Cohen at No. 2.
Wheaton (6-8) travels to Middlebury on Sunday, April 12 for a non-conference match at 1 p.m. Brandeis (6-8) visits Trinity tomorrow at 4 p.m.
