NORTON, Mass. – The Wheaton College women's lacrosse team advanced to the finals of the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Championship with a 20-6 win over Framingham State in the semifinal round Saturday afternoon at Keefe Field. With the win, the Lyons (13-6) advance to the finals for the first time in school history and will face the winner of No. 2 Lasell/No. 3 Smith Sunday afternoon at noon.

Senior Hailey Colburn (Concord, N.H./Concord) paced the offense with six goals and two assists, which moved her past Therese Ross (1983-86) and into first-place in program history in single-season scoring with 120 points. Sophomore Charlotte DeSantis (Darien, Conn./Darien) potted four goals and handed out a pair of assists while sophomore Leila Mills (Brunswick, Maine/Brunswick) tallied three goals and two assists and junior Amy Moreira (Bristol, R.I./Mount Hope) notched four points (2-2-4).

The top-seeded Lyons built a 8-0 lead less than eight minutes into the contest behind three goals from DeSantis and two each from Colburn and Mills. Wheaton led 14-4 at the break and never saw its lead dip below 10 goals the rest of the way.

Colburn won a team-high seven draw controls, sophomore Devon Soucier (Avon, Conn./Northwest Catholic) collected a team-high four ground balls, and freshman Katy Ananian (Belmont, Mass./Belmont) made three saves to earn her 12th win of the season.   

Seeded No. 4 in the tournament, the Rams received two goals each from senior Kerry Kiley (Mansfield, Mass./Mansfield) and junior Chelsea Temple (Rutland, Vt./Rutland). Kiley also won seven draw controls while sophomore Marissa Canfield (Billerica, Mass./Billerica) caused a game-high four turnovers. Sophomore Rebecca Rixon (Stow, Mass./Nashoba) recorded seven saves in goal.

Wheaton improves to 4-2 lifetime in the ECAC Championship and 2-0 against Framingham State. The Rams finish their season with a 9-8 record.
