NORTHAMPTON, Mass.- The Wheaton College women's tennis team ran its New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) winning streak to three games thanks to its 9-0 victory at Smith College on Saturday afternoon.

The Lyons improved their records to 5-1 overall and 3-1 in the NEWMAC, while the Pioneers, who have played only league matches, are 0-4.

Wheaton had little difficulty over the course of the afternoon, surrendering a mere four games in doubles play and 10 games in singles action.

At third doubles, senior Jesse Boggis (Hopkinton, Mass./Hopkinton) and freshman Caroline DiNicola-Fawley (Brattleboro, Vt./Brattleboro Union) won 8-2.

Boggis blanked her opponent at sixth singles, Cooke yielded one game in the top spot, while Marlowe, Crom and DiNicola-Fawley each won 6-2, 6-0 in the second, fourth and fifth positions, respectively.  Bell posted a 6-1, 6-2 triumph from the third slot.
