Freddy Perez arrived in Norton to join the Wheaton Men’s Soccer coaching staff in August of 2024.
Perez brings an impressive breadth of high-level coaching experience to the Lyons’ program. Perez previously spent seven seasons with the Eastern Nazarene College coaching staff, including his final two campaigns as the Lions’ Head Coach prior to the closing of the institution in the spring of 2024.
The Massachusetts native led Eastern Nazarene to a 8-1-4 conference record and back-to-back league playoff appearances. In just his first year as the Lions Head Coach, he guided them to a date in the New England Collegiate Conference Championship and was named the NECC Coach of the Year. Perez also mentored seven All-Conference selections in his two seasons as the Head Coach and 12 during his overall time at ENC in addition to a pair of Conference Player of the Year honorees and two All-Region selections.
During his time as Assistant and Associate Head Coach with ENC, Perez helped the program post a school-record for victories with a 16-4 mark, including a program-best 13 straight victories in 2019. The Lions went on to capture their first-ever conference crown and an NCAA Championship Tournament berth after winning the NECC title. Perez was on the sidelines during Eastern Nazarene’s next full season that saw the program register a 13-7-1 record, including 5-0-1 in conference play, in 2021 and advance to the league championship game for the second of three straight appearances in the title match.
In addition to his impressive collegiate coaching experience, Perez also serves as the Director of Operations and Coaching for America FC United.
Prior to his coaching career with the Lions, Perez was a four-year standout for the Lions before graduating in 2011 with a degree in Biology. He also earned a Masters degree in Science Management at Eastern Nazarene.
