Eric Dumas

Eric Dumas enters his first season on the Wheaton College baseball staff in 2023.

Dumas returns to Norton for the first time since being a named the NEWMAC Pitcher of the Year as well as a D3baseball.com First Team All-American in addition to being named to the American Baseball Coaches Association All-America Second Team as a senior in 2016. The Massachusetts native was also named First Team All-Region by D3baseball.com, the ABCA and the New England Intercollegiate Baseball Association in addition to being tapped to play in the NEIBA Senior All-Star game. The former Captain's accolades followed a season that saw him lead the NCAA with 13 saves in 21 appearances that saw him allow just five runs on 17 hits to record a microscopic 0.40 earned run average, while striking out 18 in 22 2/3 innings pitched. The right-hander limited batters to a paltry .213 (17-80) batting mark and issued just two walks. The spectacular senior campaign was a tribute to his resiliency after coming back from having season-ending Tommy John surgery in 2015 after showing so much promise as a first year.

Despite his injuries, Dumas enjoyed an outstanding career with the Lyons, posting a stellar 0.95 ERA in 66 innings pitched over 59 appearances, while fanning 57 batters and allowing just 12 free passes. The reliever gave up just 42 hits and posted a 4-1 win-loss record.

Dumas graduated from Wheaton in 2016 with a degree in International Relations.
