Game Recap: Women's Lacrosse |

Chamberlin Scores Six to Lift Women's Lacrosse to 19-11 Win at Johnson & Wales

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Senior attack Jessica Chamberlin (Bow, N.H.) posted her second-most points of the 2026 season with six goals and two assists as the Wheaton College (Mass.) women's lacrosse team bounced back from a slow start to beat Johnson & Wales 19-11 in their final non-conference game on Friday evening.

Wheaton improved to 12-5 following the win, while Johnson & Wales fell to 8-6 following their defeat.

Chamberlin finished with a team-high in scoring as she cruised to six goals and two assists. Junior Georgia Qua (Suffield, Conn.) finished with four goals and an assist, while junior Annemieke Buterbaugh (Cape Elizabeth, Maine) had exactly three goals. First year Kaydie O'Neil (Sturbridge, Mass.) had six points on three goals and as many assists to mark her second-highest scoring night this season to become the third Lyon this season to reach the 50-point mark with 54 points. Sophomore Emma-Jane Parsons (Oakland, Maine) had a pair of goals and sophomore Saige Winslow (Waterford, Maine) rounded out the scoring with her fourth goal of the season. Junior goalkeeper Jenna Langan (Lincoln, R.I.) made eight saves while playing all 60 minutes in the crease to eclipse the 200-career save mark.

Johnson & Wales only needed three goalscorers to keep things even with Wheaton in the first half. First year Riley Shepley (San Diego, Calif.) had the game-high in scoring as she potted eight goals and added an assist. Senior Mila Kuilan (Danbury, Conn.) had a pair of goals while first year Sidney Mayers (New Paltz, N.Y.) had a goal and an assist to round out the scoring for the home team.

Chamberlin found Winslow open in the middle after 32 seconds had elapsed to start the scoring for Wheaton, but the hosts found an equalizer less than a minute later. Qua and Kuilan exchanged goals to push the score up to 2-2 before Parsons gave Wheaton an advantage midway through the period. Shepley scored twice and Mayers scored her only goal of the game to put the hosts ahead 5-3 after the first quarter.

Wheaton took exception, and jumped on the hosts with a goal from Parsons just 22 seconds into play. Shepley answered back with another goal to preserve the Wildcats' lead. Chamberlin, Qua and O'Neil responded with goals of their own to reverse the lead. Chamberlin added one more goal before the halftime break to put the visitors ahead 8-6 as Wheaton outscored the Wildcats 5-1 in the second quarter.

With the lead in hand and momentum on their side, Wheaton emerged for the second half with a hunger for goals. O'Neil and Chamberlin both satisfied that appetite with goals in the opening five minutes of play. Shepley was able to scrounge together a score, but two more goals from Chamberlin inside of one minute wiped that effort away. Buterbaugh scored twice down the stretch while Qua added another goal with two minutes left to put Wheaton ahead 15-7.

O'Neil scored again to kick off the fourth quarter, but Shepley came right back with a goal for the hosts less than a minute later. Chamberlin and Qua scored within a minute of each other to put the Lyons ahead 18-8, but Shepley had another goal in her to make it 18-9. Buterbaugh scored the final goal for Wheaton before Shepley ripped another pair of goals home, but her singular effort was far from enough to put the Wildcats over the Lyons. Wheaton won 19-11.

The Lyons will host Babson College for their final regular season game on Wednesday, April 22 at 7:00 p.m. in Norton. Johnson & Wales will head to Nichols College for its final regular season game on April 22 at 4:00 p.m.
