Seven From Men's Swimming & Diving Named to NEWMAC Academic All-Conference Team

MARLBOROUGH, Mass. — Wheaton College (Mass.) seniors Gavin Cullinan (Cumming, Ga.), Will Larson (Iowa City, Iowa), Alex Minickiello (Swanzey, N.H.), Andrew Tran (Milton, Mass.), junior Kevin Rice (Vienna, Va.) and sophomores Benjamin Honan (Westborough, Mass.) and Koby Wulfmeyer (New Paltz, N.Y.) were named to the New England Women's & Men's Athletic Conference Men's Swimming & Diving Academic All-Conference Team, it was announced by the league.

Honorees must have met the following criteria: earned a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5/4.0 scale or 4.35/5.0 scale after the 2025 fall semester, achieved second year academic status at their institution, and been a member of the varsity team for the entire season. 

Cullinan, Minickiello and Tran earn the honor for the third straight year, Rice and Larson repeat after being selected a year ago. Honan and Wulfmeyer were both chosen in their first year of eligibility. 

Cullinan won the 200-yard backstroke title at the NEWMAC Championship in addition to finishing sixth in the 100-yard backstroke and was eighth in the 200-yard freestyle at the conference championship. The Biochemistry major recorded five personal-record times and 17 top-five finishes. Minickiello placed 14th at the NEWMAC Championship in the 1650-yard freestyle. The Biology major was limited during the season, but still managed to post three top-five finishes, including a third-place showing in the 1000-yard freestyle against Clark University on January 9. Tran scored at the NEWMAC Championship for the Lyons with an 11th-place finish in the 100-yard breaststroke, 13th in the 200-yard breaststroke and 15th in the 200-yard individual medley. The Chemistry major recorded five personal-record times and posted 17 top-five efforts, including three victories.   

Larson earned Second Team All-Conference honors as a member of the runner-up 200-yard freestyle relay at the NEWMAC Championship. The Business major also placed 13th in the 100-yard backstroke and was 14th in the 50-yard freestyle. Rice finished fifth in the 1650-yard freestyle to go with a 10th-place showing in the 500 freestyle in addition to finishing ninth in the 400-yard individual medley. The Political Science major registered a pair of personal-best marks in addition to 22 top-five finishes during the season.  

Honan was among the most-improved swimmers for Wheaton, recording 12 personal-record times during the season. The major recorded three top-five times in 2025-26. Wulfmeyer registered a personal-record time in the 100-yard breaststroke and placed 19th in the event at the conference championship. The Biology major turned in five personal-best marks in eight different events for the Lyons.

Wheaton owned a 4-6 dual meet record for the season and finished fifth at the NEWMAC Championship with 625 points for their highest-point tally since 2014.
