Claudia Gagné (Orlando, Fla.) and sophomore
Ryanna Ritting (Perkasie, Pa.) all added goals while first year

The Wolverines jumped out to a 5-1 lead after the first quarter despite Wheaton winning the first sprint and Ritting netting a goal. The Lyons locked in for the second quarter, rattling off three goals in the frame behind Gagné, Guge and Brown. Despite the offensive outburst, the Wolverines were able to fire four past Kraja.Â
Wheaton failed to score in the third quarter, falling behind by five more goals as the Wolverines continued to hum along on offense. The defense tightened up for the fourth quarter and allowed the fewest goals in any frame of the game, keeping the Wolverines to just two scores. The Lyons matched their hosts' effort as Guge and Swift scored, but the surge came too late as they fell to Grove City 16-6.
Wheaton will resume play tomorrow out in Pennsylvania against Washington & Jefferson College at 8:00 a.m. Grove City will play in the following game against Connecticut College at 9:30 a.m.
