BRIDGEPORT, Pa. – Wheaton College (Mass.) women's water polo player Ryanna Ritting (Perkasie, Pa.) was named to the Collegiate Water Polo Association All-Conference Honorable Mention Team, it was announced by the league.
Ritting was named an Honorable Mention selection last year by the league as well and becomes the first player in school history to earn multiple All-Conference accolades.
Ritting led the Lyons with a school-record 48 points, while eclipsing her own program standard for goals with 30. She also added 18 assists. The attacker played in all 20 contests and tallied a school-record 60 steals, while drawing 13 exclusions and recording three field blocks. The Pennridge High School product notched at least one point in every game for Wheaton and netted multiple goals on seven occasions. Ritting matched her personal best with four goals against Concordia University Irvine on February 15 and netted four more goals almost two weeks later and added a pair of assists to give her a season-high six points against Pennsylvania State University Behrend on February 28. The Secondary Education and English major tallied at least one goal in 10 straight games from February 28 to March 29. Ritting was a presence on the defensive end of the pool as well with at least one steal in every match, including multiple thefts in all but four games. She came up with a school-record six steals vs. Macalester College on March 29.
For her career, Ritting is the Lyons' all-time leader with 54 goals, 31 assists, 85 points and 104 steals in 33 lifetime games.
Wheaton finished its third varsity season with a 0-20 record and qualified for the CWPA Championship Tournament for the third straight year. The Lyons also matched the school standard for goals scored in a game.
