LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Wheaton College (Mass.) softball team was recognized by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association for having the seventh-highest grade point average as a team among NCAA Division III programs, while 18 of 20 members of the team received Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete honors, it was announced today by the NFCA.
The Lyons posted a 3.77 team GPA, which tied with Johnson & Wales University (R.I.) for seventh among NCAA Division III schools. The mark matched last year's GPA as well when the squad ranked second in the nation.
Student-athletes needed to achieve a 3.50 GPA or higher to earn All-America Scholar-Athlete honors. Wheaton registered a total of 21 honorees last year. The Lyons' total of 18 in 2025 placed them 17th in NCAA Division III and among the top 8.3% in the nation.
Seniors Grace DiBacco (Selkirk, N.Y.), Jillian Rohon (Southington, Conn.) and Juliette Zito (Woodbridge, Conn.) were selected for the second straight year. Joining them as repeat honorees are juniors Amber Arcand (Millville, Mass.), Peyton Blankenheim-Brown (Rio Linda, Calif.), Ashlyn Burt (Olathe, Kan.), Maggie Caron (Boxford, Mass.) and Riley Dolan (Coram, N.Y.). Sophomores Taylor Barry (Hadley, Mass.), Sofia De La Rosa (Middle Village, N.Y.), Ella Molinari (Grafton, Mass.), Sam Puma (Tyngsborough, Mass.) and Gabby Reinbold (Sharon, Mass.) were also tabbed for the second consecutive year.
Sophomore Mary McClintock (Essex Junction, Vt.) and first years Kathryn Copperthite (Branford, Conn.), Madi Miller (Middle Village, N.Y.), Sangeeta Vaidya (Sunnyvale, Calif.) and Alli Wisnouskas (Longmeadow, Mass.) were chosen for the first time for Wheaton.
DiBacco is a Public Health and Psychology double major. The Bethlehem Central High School graduate started all 43 games and batted .263 (31-118) with 27 runs scored to rank second on the team in addition to driving in 15 runs for Wheaton. Rohon is a Biochemistry major. The Southington High School product also started every contest for the Lyons and batted .255 (26-102) with a team-high three home runs to go with 20 RBI. Zito is a Business & Management and Psychology double major for the Lyons. The Amity Regional product was named the NEWMAC Player of the Year in addition to being selected First Team All-Region by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association.
Arcand is a Business and Management major. A graduate of Blackstone-Millville Regional High School, Arcand made 14 appearances, including six starts from the pitching circle and posted a 4-2 win-loss record in addition to owning a 3.96 earned run average in 40 2/3 innings pitched for Wheaton. Blankenheim-Brown is also a Business and Management major. The Mira Loma High School grad was named Second Team All-Conference and was a dual threat at the plate and the circle. Blankenheim-Brown ranked third in the league with a sparkling 1.76 ERA and was ninth in the NEWMAC with 30 runs batted in to go with a .327 (36-110) batting mark. Caron is a Business and Management major. Burt is a Biochemistry major and was unable to compete during the season due to injury. A graduate of Masconomet Regional, Caron started six of 14 games and batted .167 (4-24), including a big double as part of a come-from-behind win over Wellesley College on April 26. Dolan is an Elementary Education major. The Longwood High School graduate started all 29 games that she appeared in from the catching spot and knocked in eight runs to go with a pair of doubles.
Barry is a Criminal Justice major. The Hopkins Academy graduate hit .298 (36-121) to rank fourth on the team, while smacking eight doubles and a pair of triples. De La Rosa is a Business & Management major. A graduate of Archbishop Molloy High School, De La Rosa enjoyed a breakout season, recording a 14-7 mark to go with 127 strikeouts in 130 1/3 innings and was named Second Team All-Conference and Third Team All-Region. Molinari is a Biology Pre-Health major. The Grafton High School product was named Second Team All-Conference and Third Team All-Region after ranking seventh in the NEWMAC with a team-high 32 RBI to go with a .409 (54-132) batting average, which was also seventh among league leaders. Puma is a sophomore Nursing major. A graduate of Tyngsborough High School, Puma appeared in nine contests, while making two starts and drawing a walk for the Lyons. Reinbold is a sophomore Photography and Sports Media major. The Norfolk County Agricultural High School graduate started two of nine games that she appeared in and batted .167 (2-12) with a walk and a run scored.
McClintock is a sophomore Neuroscience major. The La Lumiere School (Ind.) grad saw time in a pair of games for Wheaton with two at-bats. Copperthite is a Psychology major. The Cheshire Academy product started in six of 16 games that she appeared in and enjoyed a two-day span late in the season that saw her hit safely in three straight games, while driving in a pair of runs. Miller is a Biology major. The Mary Louis Academy graduate got the starting nod in 22 of 30 contests and knocked in eight runs to go with a pair of doubles. Vaidya is a Pre-Physical Therapy major. A graduate of Homestead High School, Vaidya started 30 of 31 games that she appeared in, while batting .239 (16-67) and posting a robust .366 on-base percentage. Wisnouskas is a Mathematics major and saw time in one game for Wheaton.
The Lyons finished the season with a 28-15 record, including 10-10 in conference play, for their highest season win total since 2015 and won three games in the NEWMAC Championship Tournament to finish third in the tourney.
