BRUNSWICK, Maine -- The Wheaton College (Mass.) women's volleyball team was defeated by host Bowdoin College, 3-0 (25-13, 25-22, 25-21), this afternoon at Morrell Gymnasium in Brunswick, Maine.

The Lyons dip to 11-12 on the season, while the Polar Bears improve to 12-8.

Bowdoin hit .243 for the match to Wheaton's .128.

Senior right side hitter Bailey Madrzyk (Barrington, Ill.) led the Lyons with 11 points on eight kills and a season-high six block assists to go with a .400 hitting percentage and two digs. First year outside hitter Sydney Lyon (Weston, Conn.) also put down eight kills and added nine digs and a block assist, while junior outside hitter Annah Shaheen (Portsmouth, N.H.) swung for six kills and picked up six digs. Junior setter Julianna Flack (Saint Petersburg, Fla.) set for 13 assists and scooped up eight digs and senior libero Sophie Wilhelm (Saunderstown, R.I.) got down for 14 digs and served for one ace.

Senior outside hitter Jenna Robbins (Winston Salem, N.C.) led the Polar Bears with a double-double of 12 kills and 12 digs, while senior outside hitter Jaida Hodge-Adams (Tarzana, Calif.) spiked for nine kills and junior middle hitter Lauren Lange (Delray Beach, Fla.) had seven. Senior setter Ella Haugen (Minneapolis, Minn.) directed the offense with 37 assists and sophomore libero Maya White (La Cañada Flintridge, Calif.) picked up a match-high 19 digs.

Wheaton returns to the court on Tuesday, October 25 when it travels to Boston, Mass. to take on New England Women's & Men's Athletic Conference for Emerson College at 7:00 p.m., while Bowdoin hosts Johnson & Wales University on October 28 at 7:00 p.m.
