THE RUNDOWN:
- The Wheaton College volleyball team returned to action Saturday evening, beginning with a 3-0 (28-26, 25-23, 25-20) victory over Western New England.
- Wheaton was led by 10 kills from junior Julia Palomba, followed by eight kills from sophomore Emily Hickey.
- Becca Houghton ended the night with 30 assists, while Ariana Rajaee led the team defensively with 15 digs.
- First-year Kyra Mattera paced Wheaton with six blocks, picking up four assisted blocks and two solo.
- The opening set saw Wheaton take an early lead before the Lancers knotted up the contest at 18-18. The two sides traded points the rest of the way with Wheaton pulling out the 28-26 victory.
- After trading points at the beginning of the second set, Wheaton pulled ahead on a WNE attacking error and never looked back. The Lancers managed to tie the contest at 23-23, but Wheaton a Bailey Madrzyk kill and Lancer error handed Wheaton the win.
- The third set was another tight back and forth but once again the Lyons did enough to pull out the win with Mattera and Palomba kills.

THE RUNDOWN:
- Wheaton returned to the court later in the night to take on Worcester State with the Lyons picking up another 3-0 (25-23, 25-18, 25-10) win. The win is Wheaton's 10th of the season and the 300th career win for head coach Craig Letourneau.
- The Lyons were led by 10 kills from Madrzyk and six each from Adara Hamilton and Haley McCreight.
- Hannah George finished with 11 assists, while Houghton added nine to her growing career numbers. Hamilton also ended the night with 10 digs for Wheaton.
- The opening set saw both sides trade points the entire set. With the match tied at 19-19, Wheaton took the lead for good on a McCreight kill.
- The second set was never in question with the Lyons opening on a 3-0 run and never relinquishing control of the lead. Wheaton's largest lead of the set came at 14-9 after back-to-back WSU errors.
- Wheaton dominated the final set, only allowing WSU 10 points.
