THE RUNDOWN:
- The Wheaton College volleyball team returned to the NYU Tournament Saturday morning, earning a 3-0 (25-18, 25-10, 25-18) win over Buffalo State.
- Julia Palomba continued to have the hot hand for the Lyons, picking up a team-high 17 kills against Buffalo State, while coming up with one ace and six digs. Adara Hamilton chipped in seven kills and a team-high three aces and 11 digs in the win.
- Becca Houghton added 27 assists to her career total.
- Wheaton never trailed in the opening set, taking complete control of the set on back-to-back Houghton aces that made it a 15-10 contest. The Lyons continued to push, closing out the set on kills by Palomba and Bailey Madrzyk, as well as a Palomba ace and a Buffalo State error.
- The second set saw Wheaton come out swinging, opening on a 14-4 run. The Lyons would only allow Buffalo State to scored six more points, earning the 25-10 victory.
- Buffalo State captured its first lead of the day in the third set. Wheaton battled back, tying the set at 13-13, before going on an 8-1 run that handed them the lead for good.

THE RUNDOWN:
- The ended the tournament with a 3-0 loss to host NYU (25-17, 25-21, 25-17).
- Wheaton earned a team-high seven kills from Palomba and Hamilton, while Houghton dished out 18 assists. First-year Sophie Wilhelm led the team with 12 digs, while Madrzyk finished with four aces.
- Wheaton took an early lead against NYU, before the Violets took the lead, in what would prove to be a hard-fought set. With NYU leading 13-12, the Violets managed to string together a few runs to take the set.
- The second set opened as a back and forth with the two sides trading possession of the lead. With the set tied at 9-9, NYU took the lead for good on a Caroline Rapp kill. Wheaton continued to fight but would not be able to overcome the deficit.
- Like the opening set the game started out as a tightly contested battle, but a few NYU scoring runs earned the Violets the win.
