GAME ONE: Wheaton 0 - Emerson 1

THE RUNDOWN:  

• The Wheaton College softball team traveled to Emerson College for New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) action Tuesday night with the Lyons falling 1-0 in the opening contest.
• Senior Shelbi Wilson went six complete, giving up Emerson's lone run on just six hits while striking out seven.   
• Hannah Arkin finished with two of the Lyons four hits, going 2-for-3 in the contest. Emily Schlapak and Katelyn Barton finished with the other two hits. 
• Emerson scored the games only run in the bottom of the second courtesy of an RBI double to left.

THE RUNDOWN:  

• Game two saw the host team complete the series sweep with a 3-5 victory.
• First-year Sarah Pritchard picked up her second loss of the season after four complete innings that saw her surrender five runs on nine hits while striking out two.  
• Pritchard also led the Lyons with two hits, finishing 2-for-3 with an RBI. 
• Wheaton scored its first run of the day in the top of the first with an RBI single from Schlapak that knocked in Arkin. The sophomore led off the inning with a walk, before moving to second on a wild pitch. A ground out from Jade Assad moved Arkin to third. 
• The Lions took a 3-1 lead in the bottom of the third on a three-run home run to left. 
• Wheaton earned a run back in the top of the fourth with Chloe Woodward coming around on a single to center from Pritchard. 
• Barton tied the game in the fifth with an RBI single up the middle that plated Arkin. 
• The bottom of the fifth saw two Emerson runs come around, handing the lead back to the home team.
