• The Wheaton College softball team opened its New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) doubleheader against Babson with a 13-0 loss. 
• First-year Sarah Pritchard picked up her first loss of the season after giving up six runs. Wheaton's four hits came from Katelyn Barton, Hannah Arkin, Emily Schlapak, and Shelbi Wilson.

THE RUNDOWN:  

• Game two saw Wilson pick up the loss after giving up all four of the Beavers runs.
• Despite picking up the loss, Wilson put Wheaton on top in the first with a double to left field that knocked in Assad. 
• Babson countered in the bottom of the inning with a two-run home run.    
• Jade Assad knotted the game at 2-2 in the top of the fourth with a solo home run to deep center.
• The Beavers once again countered with an RBI single to center in the bottom half of the inning. A sacrifice fly in the sixth plated Babson's final run.
