NORTON, Mass. - The Wheaton College men's swimming & Diving team hosted Bentley College on Saturday afternoon with the Falcons defeating the Lyons 157-143.
Frederick Garneau won both the 200 free and 50 free for Wheaton, turning in a time of 1:48.62 and 22:33 respectively. Todd Lambert ended the 200 free with a season best time, while John Giberti swam a personal best. In the 50 free, Jerard Fredette finished right behind Garneau with a season best time of 22.76. Garneau was the Lyons top finisher in the 100 free with a time of 50.17.
Wheaton's 200 medley relay team took home first place with a time of 1:38.63, while the Lyons other team captured third (1:40.76). The 200 free relay team also picked up a first place finish with a time of 1:28.80.
Timmer Sposato ended the 1000 freestyle with a season best time of 10:48.37, before collecting a season best in the 500 free.
Sophomore Jacob Cost earned season bests in the 50 back (25.19) and 100 back (53.44). Cost's time in the 100 back was good enough to earn him first place.
Jonathan Dunnett finished in front of the pack in the 100 breast with a time of 1:01.67. Samuel Zarfos, who finished in third, saw a season best in the 100 breast (1:03.31). Dunnett then went on to capture the top spot in the 200 breast with a season best time of 2:14.90 and 200 individual medley (2:03.87).
Ross Johnston won the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:00.43, before turning in a season best performance of his own in the 200 back (1:58.55). Johnston then took home second place in the 100 fly (54.39).
Ricky Davies won the 3-meter diving event with a score of 248.33 and earned the Lyons 223.72 points for a second place finish in the 1-meter event. Aaron Howe took home third in the 1-meter with 216.38 points.
Wheaton returns to the pool on Friday, Nov. 4 at the Coast Guard Academy for a 6 p.m. meet.
