Box Score Wilson records double-double in loss
NORTHAMPTON, Mass. – The Wheaton College women's volleyball team opened up play in the Hall of Fame Tournament, hosted by Smith College and Mount Holyoke College, with a 3-0 loss to Colby College by scores of 19-25, 11-25 and 24-26 on Friday night at Smith College.
Sophomore setter Deirdre Wilson (Aptos, Calif./Aptos) recorded her tenth double-double of the season with 18 assists, ten digs and four kills. Classmate Elise Waelder (San Diego, Calif./Point Loma) posted four kills, a team-high 11 digs and four blocks (one solo, three assist), while sophomore Arieanne Creighton (Brookline, N.H./Hollis Brookline) added four kills and three service aces.
Defensively, sophomore libero Robyn D'Agostino (Three Bridges, N.J./Hunterdon Central Regional) chipped in with seven digs and classmate Kendall Jacobs (San Diego, Calif./Scripps Ranch) had five digs, alongside two kills and one service ace.
Senior Lindsay Tebbetts (Gilmanton, N.H./Gilford) tallied two kills and two block assists, while sophomore Taylor Matook (Exeter, R.I./Exeter-West Greenwich) registered two putaways and one block assist.
Wheaton (14-13, 4-4 NEWMAC) starts day two of the Hall Of Fame Tournament at 9 a.m. tomorrow against Tufts University and concludes its weekend non-conference slate with a contest versus Bowdoin at 3 p.m.
