Reslow, Scott Head Men's Volleyball Coach

Scott Reslow

Scott Reslow became the first Head Men's Volleyball Coach in school history in April 2024.

Reslow is no stranger to the area, having served as the Head Men’s Volleyball Coach for nearby Johnson & Wales University for 12 seasons, prior to JWU dissolving the program in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic following the 2020 campaign.

At the time of JWU’s decision to discontinue the program, Reslow ranked among the top 25 active winningest coaches in NCAA Division I, II and III with 174 victories.

The Rhode Island native arrived at Johnson & Wales prior to the 2009 season and quickly established himself as one of the best coaches in the region, being named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Coach of the Year following the 2011 season.

Reslow began an impressive streak of success within the GNAC starting in 2012 with nine consecutive seasons of finishing with a .500 or better record. Reslow’s teams won 17 or more contests six times and compiled a 154-128 (.546) record in his final nine seasons in Providence with the Wildcats. Under Reslow, JWU teams were a mainstay in the GNAC Championship Tournament, making 11 appearances.

Reslow also proved to be a good judge of talent and extremely adept at getting the best out of his players as evidenced by 34 GNAC All-Conference honorees and teams that routinely ranked among the NCAA’s top leaders. Reslow’s teams placed among the top 20 in blocks per set eight times during his tenure, while also ranking among the top 20 in either blocks, digs, aces and kills per set or hitting percentage in 11 of his 12 seasons. In 2015, the Wildcats ranked 15th in the nation with a .645 winning percentage after posting a 20-11 record and boasted a .656 winning mark in 2019 after going 21-11.

In addition to his coaching role at Johnson & Wales, Reslow served on the American Volleyball Coaches Association National Ranking Committee for three years, as well as the All-America Committee, and was the All-Region Chairperson in 2020.

Following his time at JWU, Reslow took on the Head Coaching position for the 18-1s South County Boys Volleyball Club, while also becoming the training coordinator. Under Reslow, the club has been ranked among the top five in all three seasons by the New England Region Volleyball Association. In addition, Reslow became a certified volleyball official for the Rhode Island Interscholastic League as well as an NCAA Line Judge for men’s and women’s volleyball.

Along with time spent within the volleyball coaching ranks, Reslow has remained active in the volleyball community as a member of the media. He has been the broadcaster for the RIIL Girls and Boys Volleyball Championships since 2021, while also serving as a broadcaster for Wentworth Institute of Technology since the 2022 season. Reslow was on the call for the GNAC Men’s Volleyball Championship at Wentworth and the New England Collegiate Championship at Endicott College. His broadcast career entered a pinnacle moment, being named the color commentator for Brown University volleyball on ESPN+ in 2023.

Reslow graduated from Moravian College with degrees in Political Science and Social Science in 1999.
