Reese Hartmann was named Assistant Director of Athletics Communication and New Media in July of 2026.
Hartmann returns to Norton, where she was a four-year standout on the women’s swimming and diving team prior to her graduation in 2025.
During her tenure as a student-athlete with the Lyons, Hartmann was also part of Wheaton Athletics Communication’s effort to promote the athletic programs, student-athletes and coaches through video content creation. Hartmann produced highlight reels as well as more long-form videos to highlight the successes of Wheaton College Athletics. Her outstanding instincts, combined with her ability to quickly turn around quality video content became a hallmark of her time at Wheaton.
Hartmann will be the department’s primary video content creator, while also managing Wheaton’s broadcast effort. The Michigan native will be charged with enhancing the Lyons’ video presence on social media and other platforms, while expanding the quality of Wheaton’s live stream broadcasts for the school’s 26 sports.
Hartmann graduated with a degree in Film and New Media Studies at Wheaton. She gained valuable experience through her course work at Wheaton, which she directly applied to long form video production. Her “For the Team” video, which gave the viewer an inside look into the Wheaton swimming & diving program, illustrated her keen sensibility for storytelling and capturing the look and feel of the program.
As a student-athlete, Hartmann was one of the best for the Lyons. She earned All-America status in three different events for Wheaton and graduated as one of the greatest backstrokers in school history. She still holds the school record for the 200-yard backstroke and was a member of the Lyons’ school-record breaking 200-yard and 400-yard medley relay squads. Hartmann won the New England Women’s & Men’s Athletic Conference title in the 100-yard backstroke during her career and qualified to compete at the NCAA Championships in three different seasons.
