Panayiotis Kapanides joined the Wheaton College Men's Basketball staff in August of 2025.
Kapanides comes to Norton after spending a season as an Assistant Coach for Emmanuel College. Kapanides spent his time assisting in coaching, game-planning and recruiting at the collegiate level.
The Massachusetts native first cut his coaching teeth at Camp Winadu, where he was named Coach of the Year in 2023. He went on to serve as an Assistant Coach for the Bedford High School boys team during the 2023-24 campaign and helped them reach the Massachusetts Intercollegiate Athletic Association Division 2 Final Four. He helped his high school alma mater reach the final four for the first time in eight years, while playing a heavy role in scouting opponents and preparing the offense and defense. In addition, he served as the Head Coach for the Bedford Junior Varsity program.
Kapanides also served as the Director and Head Coach within the New England Elite Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) program. He coached the Varsity Showcase team and helped to recruit and maintain over 20 families in the inaugural year. His coaching acumen was honed, directing his players in over 200 games in a span of just two seasons.
Prior to his entrance into the coaching arena, Kapanides enjoyed a four-year career at Springfield College, where he was a two-time Captain and received the John Bunn Outstanding Leadership Award from Springfield's Department of Athletics twice. He also helped the Pride reach in the second round of the NCAA Championship Tournament in 2020.
The former forward graduated from Springfield in 2023 with a degree in Movement and Sports Studies with a minor in Coaching.
