Brooke Marshall was named the eighth head field hockey coach in program history in March 2019 and enters her sixth year on the sidelines with Wheaton.
The New Hampshire native wasted no time in getting the Lyons on track in 2021 -- just her third year in Norton, seeing Wheaton field hockey nearly triple its win total from one season to the next. Marshall used the COVID year to put her team in position of success it had not experienced in years. The Lyons posted its highest win total since 2015 and won more conference matches than any year since 2011. Wheaton's regular-season success earned it a playoff berth for the first time since 2010. The Lyons celebrated a pair of All-Conference honorees, including a First Team selection for the first time since 2011. Under her tutelage, Marshall's program has consistently produced All-Conference honorees at Wheaton with at least one selection in all of her competitive seasons at the school, including a pair of First Team designees. In addition, the Lyons were represented on the All-Region Team for the first time since 2018 when Emma Lapreziosa garnered First Team accolades in 2023. In 2024, Marshall continued to see Wheaton's trajectory rise with the team's highest win total during her tenure in Norton.
Prior to her arrival at Wheaton, Marshall spent two seasons as an Assistant Coach with Smith College, assisting in every aspect of the program's development. In her final season with the Pioneers, they posted a 15-8 mark, tying the school record for wins and capturing the program's first-ever NEWMAC Championship with a 2-1 overtime victory against Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Smith advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament after knocking off No. 16 Montclair State University in the opening round.
Prior to arriving at Smith, Marshall was a four-year standout at the University of New England. At UNE, Marshall was a midfielder for the field hockey team and two-year Captain, guiding the Nor'Easters to three consecutive Commonwealth Coast Conference Championships (2014-2016) and an ECAC Championship in 2013. UNE advanced to the second round of the NCAA Field Hockey Championship in her sophomore, junior, and senior seasons. She was named CCC Defensive Player of the Week, an NFHCA Scholar of Distinction recipient and a four-time member of the NFHCA National Academic Squad. The New Hampshire native was a two-year President of UNE's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and also served as Vice President for the CCC SAAC Executive Board. Marshall scored 10 goals to go with 11 assists in 93 career games played.
Marshall graduated from UNE with a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Exercise Science and a minor in Nutrition. In addition, she earned a Master's degree in Exercise and Sports Studies from Smith.
